According to scientists, wisdom involves using the mind to reason constructively about problems that involve uncertainty. Wise forms of reasoning involve ‘seeing the big picture’ by knowing the limits of one’s knowledge, recognising that situations can be uncertain and change over time, acknowledging others’ viewpoints and seeking compromise between different interests.
